Job summary

leading-edge is seeking an experienced Actuary specialized in the medical field to join our team in the UAE. This is a 6-month contract with extension opportunities and a daily rate of $600-$700.

The role involves pricing medical insurance, building actuarial models, collaborating with underwriters, and communicating complex concepts to stakeholders. Candidates should have FSA or equivalent and 5+ years of medical pricing experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Must have medical insurance pricing experience.
• Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries (FSA) or equivalent designation.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an actuary, with a focus on medical insurance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in actuarial software and programming languages such as SAS, R, or Python.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough analysis of medical insurance policies and claims data to assess risk and determine appropriate premiums.
• Develop and maintain actuarial models to forecast future costs and premiums.
• Collaborate with underwriters and other team members to develop new insurance products and improve existing ones.
• Monitor and evaluate the financial performance of medical insurance plans and make recommendations for improvement.
• Stay updated on industry trends and regulations related to medical insurance to ensure compliance and competitive advantage.
• Communicate complex actuarial concepts and findings to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
• Mentor and train junior actuaries and provide guidance on actuarial methodologies and techniques.
