Job summary

Anduril Industries in Abu Dhabi seeks a Mechatronics Engineer to support integration of electromechanical actuation, sensing, and control subsystems enabling hover-to-cruise transitions for Omen payloads. You will collaborate with Costa Mesa engineering and regional partners on system integration.

You will own payload interfaces, perform sensor characterization, and drive trade studies for robust, low‑latency, high‑reliability mission systems in a defense‑tech environment.

Qualifications

• Strong engineering background in mechatronics, robotics, electrical engineering, aerospace, CS or physics.
• 4+ years hands‑on electromechanical and sensor integration experience.
• Proficiency in scripting or programming to automate tests and interface with onboard software.

Responsibilities

• Bridge mission system and air vehicle teams to ensure alignment.
• Own payload hardware integration end-to-end: EO/IR sensors, RF payloads, gimbals, inertial sensing.
• Drive selection of mission systems through trade studies on performance, SWaP, thermal and latency.
• Interface with regional customers to align end-user requirements.
• Characterize sensors on bench and in flight: noise, latency, bias and drift, boresight stability.
• Define payload interface control: mounting, power, signal, harnessing, time sync.
• Write production software/firmware for payload subsystems including drivers and calibration.
• Plan ground and flight test campaigns for payload performance; support integration bring‑up.
• Lead root-cause investigations across mechanical, electrical, firmware boundaries.
• Feed lessons learned into ICDs, calibration procedures, and production QA docs.
