Job summary

Wood is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer in Sharjah, UAE to lead static and rotating equipment packages. You will drive design, procurement, vendor liaison, and budget control while coordinating with licensors and the client's teams.

The role demands high-level experience in oil and gas, mastery of API/ASME standards, and a proven ability to manage multinational project teams within the Middle East. A strong leadership mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in oil and gas industry.
• 15+ years in engineering design environment.
• Experience with static/rotating equipment packages.
• Experience working with multinational project teams.
• Middle East work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead specification, design and procurement of static/rotating equipment packages.
• Ensure compliance with API/ASME standards and client specs.
• Plan, schedule and support bid/tender activities.
• Manage discipline work to schedule and budget.
• Prepare progress reports and attend progress meetings.
• Ensure team competency and liaise with licensors/vendors.
• Coordinate with procurement for timely package delivery.
• Provide technical guidance and resolve design issues.
