Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead inspection, design calculations and specifications for large-scale oil and gas projects in Abu Dhabi. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams and ensure compliance with global and local standards from concept to completion.

The ideal candidate holds a Mechanical Engineering degree (masters preferred), PE license, and 8–10 years in project management consultancy, with strong leadership and risk management skills. No remote work offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• PE license required; PMP certification is a plus.
• 8–10 years of experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on project management consultancy.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate mechanical engineering aspects of large-scale projects in the oil and gas industry.
• Develop and review mechanical designs calculations and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and project team members.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for mechanical engineering challenges.
• Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including civil electrical and instrumentation engineers.
• Liaise with clients contractors and regulatory bodies to ensure project alignment and compliance with local UAE engineering regulations.
• Perform quality control checks and approve mechanical engineering deliverables.
• Develop and maintain project schedules budgets and resource allocation plans.
• Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvements in mechanical engineering practices.
• Prepare and present technical reports and presentations to stakeholders.
