Job summary

GHD is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead design and delivery of complex mechanical systems for buildings, infrastructure, and industrial developments in the UAE. The role combines technical leadership, project delivery, and client engagement to drive high-quality outcomes.

With 8–12 years of UAE building services experience, you will oversee design reviews, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure compliance with local regulations and international codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• 8–12 years’ UAE experience in building services.
• Proven experience delivering complex projects with minimal supervision.
• Expertise in HVAC design and energy-efficient systems.
• Piping, plant design and system integration knowledge.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, IES, HAP and calculation software.
• Strong knowledge of UAE regulations and international codes.
• Experience in technical reports, feasibility studies, and BMS familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of mechanical systems across project stages.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and international codes (ASHRAE, IPC, NFPA).
• Drive design quality through reviews, calculations, and simulations.
• Utilize BIM workflows and energy modelling tools.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers.
• Coordinate with architects and multidisciplinary teams for integrated delivery.
• Conduct site inspections and performance assessments against design intent.
• Identify risks and gaps, implementing practical engineering solutions.
• Support project managers in tracking progress and timelines.
• Engage with clients, present solutions, and build long-term relationships.
• Contribute to innovation, sustainability, and digital engineering initiatives.
