A leading engineering firm in Sharjah is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC and plumbing systems. The ideal candidate will possess at least 10 years of construction experience, strong knowledge of GCC regulations, and excellent problem-solving skills. This role involves site supervision, reviewing technical submittals, and conducting inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications.

Qualifications

Job description
Job Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and manage the installation testing and commissioning of mechanical systems including HVAC plumbing and fire fighting at site.
  • Review mechanical drawings technical submittals and shop drawings to ensure compliance with project specifications and design intent.
  • Coordinate with consultants contractors and other engineering disciplines to ensure smooth site and resolve technical issues.
  • Monitor daily site activities ensure work is executed as per approved method statements and ensure safety and quality standards are maintained.
  • Attend project coordination meetings site inspections and testing activities with consultants clients and authorities.
  • Verify material deliveries and ensure they are in accordance with approved material submittals and project requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure progress and workmanship meet required standards and project timelines.
  • Prepare daily weekly and monthly progress reports and maintain records of site activities and inspections.
  • Support project closeout activities including testing commissioning snagging and preparation of asbuilt documentation.
Key Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 10 years of site experience in mechanical works within the construction industry ideally in the UAE or GCC.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC plumbing and fire fighting systems including installation testing and commissioning practices.
  • Familiarity with GCC construction codes ASHRAE standards and local authority regulations (e.g. DM ADDC DEWA Civil Defense).
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings schematics and specifications.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail in a fastpaced construction environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic AutoCAD; working knowledge of project tracking and reporting tools is a plus.
