Job summary

Confidential Company in Dubai seeks an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to lead capital projects in a power plant environment. You will oversee design reviews, execution, and handover, ensuring compliance with KPIs, schedules, budgets, and quality requirements.

The candidate should have a strong background in rotating equipment and hands-on involvement from design through inspection and commissioning, with a track record of delivering complex mechanical projects in energy facilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in mechanical projects for power plants, covering design reviews to execution and inspections.
• Knowledge of rotating equipment (pumps, centrifugal and screw compressors).

Responsibilities

• Actively monitor project progress against approved schedules and budgets.
• Identify and escalation project scheduling and budget concerns to the line manager and support the implementation of corrective actions.
• Coordinate closely with Operations to deliver project scope by participating in the development and evaluation of technical and operational solutions.
• Manage small to medium-sized projects from initiation through execution to handover.
• Review and provide technical input on fabrication drawings, shop drawings, and material submittals submitted by contractors.
• Participate in design review meetings with EPCM/EPC contractors and consultants, contributing to design optimization and Value Engineering initiatives.
• Verify the readiness of project drawings, operating manuals, and maintenance manuals prior to project completion and handover.
• Support the project team during construction activities to ensure execution in accordance with approved technical specifications.

Job Purpose

Desired Candidate Profile

• Engineer shall have minimum 10yrs. Of experience to perform Mechanical projects in Power plant and handling all project activities from Design reviews to execution, inspections etc. as Mechanical engineer.
• Knowledge of Rotating equipment’s such as Pumps, Centrifugal/Screw compressors etc.
