Job summary

GREEN CONCEPT ENGINEERING CONSULTANT (GCE) is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for a full-time remote role in the United Arab Emirates. You will lead the mechanical design of building services, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, from concept to detailed design, coordinating with architects, consultants, and cross-functional teams.

You will prepare calculations, CAD models, drawings, and technical specifications, ensuring compliance with codes and project requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level accredited Mechanical Engineering degree required.
• Experience in mechanical design for building services or MEP consultancy.
• Strong CAD proficiency and ability to produce review-ready drawings and models.
• Familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and energy efficiency standards.

Responsibilities

Job description

Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer. The role involves leading mechanical design for building services, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and related MEP systems, from concept to detailed design. The engineer will prepare and review calculations, CAD models, drawings, and technical specifications, ensuring compliance with project requirements, codes, and standards. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating with multidisciplinary design teams, architects, and consultants; reviewing designs for constructability and energy efficiency; and supporting value engineering and design optimization. The role also includes mentoring junior engineers, participating in design reviews, and assisting with technical documentation and client presentations.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Mechanical Engineering and Design Engineering skills, with experience in building services and MEP systems.
• Candidates should possess expertise in Machine Design and Product Design, including the development and optimization of mechanical components and assemblies.
• Candidates should possess proficient Computer-Aided Design (CAD) skills, using industry-standard tools to create and review 2D drawings and 3D models.
• Candidates should possess knowledge of relevant building codes, standards, and guidelines (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and energy efficiency regulations).
• Candidates should possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical report-writing skills, with attention to detail and design quality.
• Candidates should possess effective communication and collaboration skills to work with remote, multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline; professional registration or certification is an advantage.
• Several years of experience in mechanical design for building services or MEP consultancy, preferably with exposure to Middle East projects.
