Job summary

EDGE is seeking a Chief CAD Designer - Mechanical for Halcon to lead the creation, control, and release of complex mechanical design documentation within a highly regulated engineering environment.

The role requires advanced Creo and SolidWorks expertise, GD&T knowledge, and Windchill PLM experience, with BS 8888/ISO GPS standards compliance and leadership across the Drawing Office. Abu Dhabi-based, senior-level defence-focused engineering role.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 12-15 years of experience in mechanical CAD design, detailing and manufacturing documentation.
• Advanced proficiency in Creo and SolidWorks, including part modelling, assemblies, sheet metal, and drawing modules.

Responsibilities

• Develop complex 3D CAD models, assemblies and detailed drawings using Creo and SolidWorks.
• Generate manufacturing-ready documentation including sheet metal, machined parts, welded structures, BOMs, DXFs, and CNC-ready files.
• Manage CAD data, document control, revision control, and ECR/ECN within Windchill PLM.
• Provide technical oversight, drawing approval, mentoring, and continuous improvement of CAD standards and templates.
