Job Description

This role is based in our Level 6, The Offices 4, One Central, Dubai World Trade Center, Dubai, UAE office.

We are specifically looking for a candidate who is already based in Dubai, UAE. Domestic and international travel may sometimes be expected.

Taylor & Francis are looking for a Senior Marketing Executive to join our EMENA Marketing Team. This role will work closely both with colleagues in MENA and our wider regional and global marketing teams to drive the growth of our business in the region, with a particular focus on increasing journal article submissions from academic researchers.

This is an exciting challenge working in a key growth area for our business. You will be required to contribute to implementing our B2C marketing strategies for MENA, ensuring our marketing effectively reaches both our existing customers and new audiences. You will lead the planning, execution, and management of regional special events and conferences as well as managing any pre‑, mid‑, and post‑event marketing communications and promotions. You will work closely with our Commercial teams and established partners in the region to improve our marketing outputs and ensure we’re taking advantage of every opportunity to reach our target audience. You will become a key member in our growing MENA team – reporting both on planned campaigns and the impact of marketing and event activities.

We are looking for someone who can contribute to marketing and events planning and delivery within the MENA region to maximize revenue and customer engagement based on commercial priorities and business opportunities. This includes reporting on the full range of evidence‑based digital marketing activities as well as on the ground events, working with colleagues from our Commercial team and the wider EMENA Marketing group to ensure our marketing strategy is aligned to growth opportunities.

You will demonstrate an understanding of our customers and competition to inform marketing plans and make commercially driven decisions, working closely with internal stakeholders to contribute to team and departmental objectives, as required.

This role also plays a key part in driving demand for our researcher engagement activities, collaborating closely with Commercial teams and the MENA Marketing Manager to optimize the customer experience and maximize engagement with potential customers.

Key Accountabilities
  • Support the Marketing Manager in the roll out of our marketing strategy in the MENA region, focusing particularly on B2C marketing targeting academic researcher communities to drive submissions of journal articles.
  • Work alongside our Commercial team to help manage our key customer events in the region and ensure our presence is effective at meeting joint goals.
  • Manage external relationships with event organizers, negotiating pricing, securing contracts, and managing all technical and logistical aspects involved with securing space/sponsorship, and work closely with external agencies and/or graphic designers to manage the development/creation of event assets where relevant.
  • Plan and implement subject/channel or team level project campaigns, building effective marketing campaign plan briefs for digital delivery teams which are specific and detailed.
  • Have a collaborative approach to campaign feedback from channel specialists to enable continuous improvement.
  • Manage a marketing budget effectively, ensuring return on investment.
  • Work to measurable KPIs, measuring and reporting on progress linking to the achievement of organizational objectives. Play a leading role in developing regional KPIs for measuring ongoing success/effectiveness of events marketing.
  • Maintain reports, budgets, trackers as required, analysing performance of campaigns, products, and activities carried out.
  • Undertake and support market research to understand customer, competitor and market developments, feeding outcomes into own plans and those of the wider department.
  • Build effective working relationships with colleagues, customers, potential customers and third parties.
  • Contribute to the development of best practice within MENA, making recommendations as required, relaying voice of the customer feedback across the wider teams.
  • Ensure that colleagues are kept up-to-date and engaged with activities and the on‑going results, adapting activities in line with performance and evidence.
  • Act as a role model and contribute to driving a culture of high‑performance, taking responsibility to identify and develop skills gaps.
  • Travel to professional development training, conferences, and exhibitions and/or carry out other customer‑facing activities, reporting back as required.
Qualifications
  • Experience in a marketing environment, understanding of the role of marketing and the implementation of evidence‑based marketing campaigns.
  • Demonstrable customer and commercial awareness – including the competitive environment, potential partner organisations and market trends.
  • Strong English-language communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with others to build strong partnerships, both internally and externally.
  • Self‑starter with ability to manage own time and prioritize effectively, with dedication to learning and self‑development.
  • Demonstrable experience taking the initiative with marketing campaigns and projects to meet wider team and company objectives.
  • Able to use business acumen gained from learning and past experiences to improve campaign effectiveness and working practices.
Skills and Behaviours Required
  • A clear focus on delivering commercial value with the ability to gather customer and market data and make effective decisions based on it.
  • Works collaboratively with others to build strong partnerships, both internally and externally.
  • Strong communication skills, including persuasive English-language copywriting ability.
  • Supports the implementation of change through positive behaviour and attitude; Contributes ideas of how to best manage and implement changes based on customer needs.
