Job summary

flydubai is seeking an accomplished IT Operations Leader to steer end-to-end IT services, infrastructure operations, and project delivery from Dubai. You will ensure stable, secure, and efficient technology platforms and lead a high-performing team across data centers, cloud, and core systems.

The role requires deep experience in IT governance, incident management, and disaster recovery, with a strong focus on risk mitigation and alignment to business priorities. Fluency in English is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.

• Familiar with COBIT, ITIL/ITSM standards and disaster recovery.

Responsibilities

MAIN OBJECTIVE OF ROLE

To lead and manage end to end IT operations and delivery by ensuring stable, secure, and efficient IT services across flydubai, overseeing IT infrastructure operations, evaluating emerging technologies, and driving the successful delivery and management of IT infrastructure and operational projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides strategic oversight of the organization’s IT infrastructure, systems, and technology platforms, ensuring high availability, operational resilience, and alignment with enterprise standards.
• Oversees the 24×7 Network Operations Center (NOC), driving proactive real time monitoring, event management, and rapid incident response to minimize business impact.
• Leads execution & technology feasibility studies, benchmarking, and proof of concept (PoC) initiatives, ensuring outcomes inform architectural decisions, OPEX/CAPEX planning, and technology roadmaps.
• Oversees end to end execution of infrastructure initiatives, including data center modernization, cloud migration, network upgrades, platform refreshes, and core operational system deployments.
• Provides senior leadership and governance for all infrastructure and operational project portfolios, ensuring delivery excellence, risk mitigation, and strategic alignment with business priorities.
• Drives close collaboration with Cyber Security Operations to strengthen & accelerate vulnerability response and proactively enhance the security posture across operational infrastructure services.
• Conducts and participates in Disaster recovery drills to meet defined Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO).
• Ensures daily backup and restore operations are executed in line with compliance to preserve company data integrity and availability.
• Leads periodic audits and operational health assessments, driving optimization initiatives to enhance performance, efficiency, and reliability.
• Assist in optimization the IT Asset Management and CMDB to maintain accurate visibility, lifecycle control, and compliance across cloud and datacenter technology platforms
• Builds, mentors, and develops a high performing IT operations and infrastructure support team to ensure capability growth, accountability, and sustained service excellence.
• Acts and assures smooth Service Transition & Knowledge transfer on all new business initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (3+ years)
• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
• Fluent in English
• Experience & proficient in installing, configuring, and maintaining IT systems and equipment. Proven experience in directing & handling IT operations. Experience in managing teams of technicians, system engineers and other IT staff. Well versed in understanding and following the standards (COBIT, ITIL or ITSM). Experience in handling disaster recovery situation.
• Proven experience in directing and handling IT Monitoring and Admin tool. Working knowledge of ITSM tools.
• Years with qualifications: 10 - 12 years
• Certification in IT governance and service management frameworks such as COBIT and ITIL

Isr Requirements

Reads and complies with the ISR policies of the Company and diligently reports any weakness or incidents to the respective Line Manager or the Information Security team. Completes all required ISR awareness sessions and follows associated guidelines in the day-to‑day business operations.
