JOB TITLE

Senior Manager, Development | MAF Properties | Head Office

ROLE SUMMARY

The Senior Development Manager – Shopping Malls oversees mall development and redevelopment projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives, development strategies, and governance requirements. The role supports the evaluation of new opportunities through research, analysis, and stakeholder engagement, while coordinating across internal teams and external partners to deliver integrated projects and enhance retail and lifestyle offerings.

ROLE PROFILE

• Lead end-to-end project delivery across complex mixed-use developments, managing project workstreams from feasibility and planning through execution and handover.
• Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders including Development, Leasing, Asset Management, Design, Operations, Hospitality, Retail, Lifestyle & Entertainment, Finance, and external partners to ensure integrated project delivery.
• Drive feasibility and development planning, including business cases, development scenarios, masterplan assessments, site due diligence, and strategic recommendations for new opportunities.
• Manage consultants, operators, and delivery partners, ensuring design solutions align with commercial objectives, operational requirements, customer experience goals, and development strategy.
• Support governance and stakeholder management, including engagement with authorities, JV partners, operators, anchor tenants, and senior leadership through project reporting and approval processes.
• Oversee financial and commercial performance by managing budgets, forecasts, cost plans, procurement activities, contract reviews, value engineering initiatives, and business case alignment.
• Monitor project risks and performance, maintaining risk registers, mitigation plans, project health reporting, and ensuring compliance with governance frameworks and stage-gate requirements.
• Contribute to the delivery of major mixed-use developments valued between AED 500M and AED 5B+, ensuring strong commercial returns, operational readiness, customer experience excellence, and alignment with strategic business objectives.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Architecture, Real Estate Development, Law, or a related field.
• 11+ years of experience in real estate development, mixed-use projects, retail, hospitality, investment, strategy, or large-scale development environments.
• Proven track record of managing complex projects and coordinating multiple stakeholders, business units, consultants, and external partners.
• Deep understanding of development processes, feasibility studies, governance, commercial coordination, project delivery, and preferably UAE regulatory and authority approval frameworks.
• Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence, align, and collaborate across complex matrix organizations.
• Commercially minded, proactive, and solutions-focused professional who can manage ambiguity, shifting priorities, and multiple workstreams while delivering high-quality, customer-centric outcomes.
