Job summary

Song Consulting Pte Ltd seeks a senior LNG trading professional to build and scale a physical LNG trading desk from the ground up, establishing opportunities, structuring deals, and driving margin expansion across global markets. The role requires a proven track record in launching desks, deep LNG market knowledge, an extensive industry network, and willingness to relocate to Dubai, UAE.

You will lead origination, risk controls, and cross-functional collaboration with trade finance and logistics

Qualifications

• 10+ years of direct LNG trading experience in energy trading firms, producers, or utilities.
• Proven track record of building or scaling an LNG trading desk with profitable trades.
• Deep knowledge of LNG supply-demand dynamics, shipping, regasification, and pricing benchmarks (JKM, TTF, Henry Hub).
• Well-established international LNG market network.
• Based in or willing to relocate to Dubai, UAE.

• Desk Building & Business Development: Identify, develop, and execute physical LNG trading opportunities from scratch, formulating origination, marketing, and cross-regional arbitrage strategies to maximize margins.
• Full Trade Life Cycle Management: Oversee end-to-end trade execution, including market analysis, deal structuring, contracts, logistics, shipping, and risk management.
• Relationship & Portfolio Management: Leverage and expand an active global network of LNG stakeholders to drive volume growth and market presence.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal trade finance, risk, operations, and credit teams to ensure seamless deal execution and robust risk controls.

• Role Purpose: Build and scale the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) trading desk from the ground up, establishing physical trading opportunities, structuring deals, and driving margin expansion across global markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Desk Building & Business Development: Identify, develop, and execute physical LNG trading opportunities from scratch. Formulate origination, marketing, and cross-regional arbitrage strategies to maximize trading margins.
• Full Trade Life Cycle Management: Oversee end-to-end trade execution, including market analysis, deal structuring, contract negotiation (EFET, Master Sales Agreements, Spot/Term contracts), logistics coordination, shipping, and active risk management.
• Relationship & Portfolio Management: Leverage and expand an active global network of key industry stakeholders—including upstream producers, state energy companies, utilities, refiners, shipowners/charterers, and downstream end-users—to drive volume growth and market presence.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with internal trade finance, risk, operations, and credit teams to ensure seamless deal execution and robust risk controls.

Key Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: 10+ years of direct, proven experience in physical LNG trading within an energy commodity trading firm, major producer, or utility.
• Track Record: Demonstrated history of building/scaling an LNG trading desk or portfolio from the ground up, with a verifiable track record of profitable trade execution and volume growth.
• Market Expertise: Deep knowledge of global LNG supply-demand dynamics, shipping/chartering mechanics, regasification/liquefaction economics, and pricing benchmarks (e.g., JKM, TTF, Henry Hub).
• Network: Well-established, active network across key regional and international LNG market participants.
• Location: Based in or willing to relocate to Dubai, UAE.
