Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Land Surveyor to support transportation and infrastructure projects in Dubai, UAE. You will conduct land surveys, verify field measurements, and prepare maps, plots, and reports using EDM equipment and surveying instruments.

Qualifications

• Professional experience in land surveying and the interpretation of survey measurements.
• Understanding of surveying methods used to establish the positions of physical features and structures.
• Ability to use electronic distance-measuring equipment and relevant surveying instruments.
• Experience reviewing distances, directions, angles, elevations, and contour information.
• Ability to analyse survey data and verify measurement accuracy.
• Understanding of boundary research using legal records and historical evidence.
• Experience operating land-information computer systems.
• Ability to prepare accurate survey maps, plots, and technical reports.
• Competence in handling surveying assignments involving varied technical challenges.
• Ability to complete routine work independently while following general instructions for new assignments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct surveys to determine the locations of natural features and human-made structures.
• Perform surveying activities involving features on the earth's surface, underground, and underwater as required.
• Use electronic distance-measuring equipment and surveying instruments to obtain measurements.
• Determine and verify positions of survey reference points.
• Review survey measurements to support accurate site representations.
• Apply surveying methods to assignments involving different environments.
• Maintain accuracy and consistency when handling field data.
• Review information collected by survey teams for accuracy and completeness.
• Examine measurements of distances, directions, and angles between points.
• Analyse elevation information relating to points, lines, and contours.
• Review measurements representing features on, above, and below the earth's surface.
• Identify discrepancies in survey information.
• Verify survey results against records and supporting information.
• Document findings from boundary research and survey analysis.
