Job summary

Star Services in the UAE seeks an experienced Ladle Repairman to maintain and repair ladles and hydraulic slide gate systems for steel production. The role requires hands-on expertise in ladle prep, nozzle changes, and refractory maintenance, with welding/oxy-cutting as a plus.

Responsibilities include inspecting equipment, performing relining, removing slag, and ensuring readiness for furnace operations while strictly adhering to safety standards and procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Ladle Repairman / Ladle Slide Gate Technician in a steel plant.
• Hands-on experience in ladle preparation, maintenance and repair.
• Knowledge of hydraulic slide gate mechanisms and slide gate plate replacement.
• Experience in changing ladle inner nozzles, collector nozzles and porous plugs.
• Familiarity with ladle cleaning, oxygen lancing and refractory-related maintenance.
• Experience with billet casting operations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, inspect and maintain used and relined ladles for production.
• Maintain and service hydraulic slide gate mechanisms.
• Replace slide gate plates, nozzles and porous plugs as required.
• Clean ladle components and remove slag deposits.
• Inspect ladle equipment and ensure it is safe and ready for furnace operations.
• Follow all safety procedures and operational standards.
