Job summary

Emirates Group IT is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Java full stack to join a dynamic agile team in Dubai. You will design, develop, and maintain software solutions that support Emirates Group Business, leveraging Java 8+, Spring Boot, microservices, and modern web tech.

You will collaborate with senior engineers, implement secure code, participate in on-call support, and ensure high-quality delivery with CI/CD, logging, and monitoring.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Honours in Computer Science, Computation, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of Backend Development experience with Java (8+) and microservices.
• Strong experience with Java ecosystem, Spring/Spring Boot, RESTful API, SOAP, and microservices patterns.
• Proficiency in modern web stacks: React.js/Next.js/Node.js.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (Oracle, MariaDB, SQL Server, Postgres, Couchbase, MongoDB, Elastic).
• Cloud exposure to AWS/Azure/Google Cloud and DevOps tools (GitLab, Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes, Jenkins).
• Build tools: Maven, Ant, Gradle; Automation testing: Jasmine/Jest/Karma/JUnit/Mockito; Code quality: SonarQube.
• Security and API management knowledge (ShiftLeft, Sentinel; API platforms like APIgee, Kong).
• Experience in API-first development, production support per ITIL, and strong CI/CD practices.
• Agentic AI frameworks and low-code exposure are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to technical design and implement software solutions in Java full-stack within an agile team.
• Develop secure, optimized code following Emirates Group coding standards.
• Participate in on-call support and resolve production issues within SLAs.
• Ensure 100% unit testing and CI/CD pipeline hygiene.
• Refactor code to minimize debt and implement robust logging/monitoring.
• Stay current with technologies and contribute to Playbooks and standards documents.
