PURPOSE & SCOPE

The Senior Instrumentation Project Engineer will oversee instrumentation projects from inception through design to implementation, ensuring that all technical aspects are executed in accordance with project specifications and company standards.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and manage the execution of instrumentation projects, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and engineering standards.
  • Develop, review, and approve instrumentation specifications and design documents.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including electrical, mechanical, and civil engineers to ensure project integration.
  • Perform site surveys and assessments to gather relevant data for project planning.
  • Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
  • Manage and perform technical evaluations for procurement of instrumentation equipment and services.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure clarity and satisfaction regarding project deliverables.
  • Conduct inspections and quality assurance checks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers within the team.
  • Lead and manage instrumentation aspects of pipeline projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Develop and review detailed instrumentation designs, specifications, and drawings for pipeline systems.
  • Supervise the installation and commissioning of instrumentation systems, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including construction, electrical, mechanical, and piping engineers, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding instrumentation-related matters, providing technical support and addressing concerns.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years in the oil and gas industry, with at least 5 years in a senior capacity focusing on instrumentation within pipeline projects.
  • Comprehensive understanding of instrumentation design, installation, and operational standards.
  • Strong understanding of pipeline construction and operations.
  • Familiarity with international standards and codes related to instrumentation and pipeline systems.
  • Proficient in using software and tools relevant to instrumentation engineering (e.g., AutoCAD, INTOOLS).
