Overview
Wood is recruiting for a Senior I&C Designer to join our team in Sharjah, UAE. This is a full-time office-based role with business trips.
Responsibilities
- Develops working drawings within company and industry standards and codes from equipment specifications and detailed drawings to support completion of engineering deliverables.
- Creates drawings involving plans, layouts, calculations and bills of materials.
- Works on assignments involving a variety of design procedures and techniques; records observations, performs calculations and prepares reports on assignments.
- Performs layouts, design and checking work from the basic data supplied; designs and makes detail drawings from rough sketches involving intricate calculations and application of fundamental engineering principles.
- Establishes project drafting standards and monitors their conformance; identifies cost‑effective solutions to design problems.
- Assists in the preparation of bid evaluations; designs and constructs models, prototypes, processes or equipment; compiles and evaluates data and prepares reports.
- Prepares estimates of time, quantities, materials and labour for activities related to testing, installation, manufacture, design or construction; generates bill of materials from finished designs.
- At more experienced levels, may act as coordinator on small projects and prepare specifications for complex equipment and processes; ensures quality and technical accuracy in drawings and material quantities; plans assigned work and liaises with project team and line manager to control man-hours and achieve targets.
- Carries out site visits/surveys and provides inputs to site visit reports.
Qualifications & Requirements
- B.Sc. or equivalent degree in the Engineering discipline from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience in major Brownfield oil & gas projects, including at least five (5) years in a similar position.
- Specific experience in Oil and Gas projects across their lifecycle in the GCC region, preferred; pre-FEED/FEED experience is required; detailed engineering experience is preferred.
- Enjoys being involved in the practical application of complex theoretical principles; self-motivated with strong problem-solving and communication skills; good attention to detail.
