As a Senior HR Manager you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing advanced HR systems, policies, and frameworks that directly support operational efficiency and compliance.

Responsibilities Include

  • Strategic HR Leadership : Translate business objectives and project schedules into HR operational plans, ensuring optimal workforce utilization across multiple sites. Develop and enforce project-specific HR guidelines in alignment with ISO, OHSAS, and contractual labour compliance requirements. Provide HR input into project mobilization and demobilization plans to minimize downtime and optimize manpower allocation.
  • Industrial Relations & Statutory Compliance : Oversee compliance with Labour Contract Act, Factories Act, Building and Other Construction Workers Act (BOCW), and other applicable laws. Maintain proactive relationships with labour authorities, inspectorates, and statutory bodies to mitigate compliance risks. Ensure contractors’ and subcontractors’ workforce complies with statutory norms, safety protocols, and site access procedures.
  • Employee Relations & Engagement : Establish structured grievance redressal mechanisms at corporate and site levels to ensure timely resolution of disputes. Conduct climate surveys, safety culture assessments, and engagement audits to identify areas of improvement. Lead site welfare initiatives, ensuring compliance with CISF/security protocols and client-specific contractual obligations.
  • Performance Management : Drive the annual performance appraisal process, ensuring objective evaluation and alignment with KPIs. Support managers in setting measurable goals linked to project delivery and quality standards.
  • HR Systems & Data Analytics: Deploy and manage HRIS for real-time tracking of attendance, leave, and manpower allocation across dispersed project sites. Generate and interpret HR analytics dashboards to support decision-making on productivity, absenteeism, overtime, and cost optimization. Maintain project-specific manpower cost reports for inclusion in monthly client and management reviews.
  • Policy Implementation & Site Administration: Standardize onboarding/offboarding SOPs for site personnel to ensure compliance with client and statutory requirements. Oversee accommodation, transport, and welfare facilities at remote project locations to maintain workforce morale and retention. Ensure HR processes support contractual claims, variations, and EOT (Extension of Time) documentation where HR-related events impact project timelines.
  • HR Operations: Oversee payroll, attendance, and timekeeping systems for both corporate and site employees. Standardize HR documentation, contracts, and onboarding/offboarding processes across locations.Implement HRIS and automation tools to enhance efficiency.

Here’s what you’ll need

  • Education: MBA / Master’s degree in HR or equivalent; certifications in Industrial Relations or Labour Laws preferred.
  • Experience: 15+ years in HR in construction/EPC, with proven exposure to multi-site operations and large workforce management.
  • Strong knowledge of Indian labour legislation, HSE integration, and site HR administration.
