Job summary

Edge Group is seeking an experienced HSE Officer to promote and maintain a safe working environment in Abu Dhabi. You will implement health and safety policies, conduct inspections, identify hazards, assess risks, and ensure regulatory and company compliance.

The role involves educating staff on safe work practices, leading toolbox talks and training, and maintaining comprehensive HSE documentation. Previous aerospace/defence exposure is preferred and a strong IMS background is essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Recognized safety certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA training, or equivalent is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years engineering and IMS experience.
• Aerospace/Defence experience is desirable.
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine workplace and site safety inspections.
• Identify hazards, assess risks, and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure employees and contractors comply with safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness training.
• Monitor the proper use of PPE.
• Review risk assessments, method statements, permits to work, and other safety documentation.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
• Prepare incident investigation reports and recommend preventive measures.
• Maintain safety records, inspection reports, training records, and other HSE documentation.
• Monitor high‑risk activities such as working at height, lifting operations, confined-space entry, excavation, hot work, and electrical work.
• Inspect emergency equipment, fire extinguishers, first-aid facilities, access routes, and emergency exits.
• Participate in emergency drills and support emergency‑response activities.
• Immediately report serious hazards and unsafe practices to management.
• Follow up on corrective and preventive actions until completion.
• Participate in safety meetings and HSE audits.
• Promote a positive safety culture and encourage employees to report hazards and near misses.
• Coordinate with supervisors, contractors, and management on health and safety matters.
• Keep updated on applicable occupational health and safety requirements
