GOPA Tech is seeking a seasoned HSE Engineer – Substation and Cable for EtihadWE projects in the Northern Emirates, UAE. You will develop and implement practical HSE systems across live-line and substation works, focusing on minimizing risk and protecting people and assets.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Safety, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering or related field, 10+ years of experience (5+ in similar projects), NEBOSH/IOSH/OSHA certification, and strong communication with

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of overall experience in HSE roles for power transmission, utilities, or heavy civil works.
• At least 5 years on similar substation/cable projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical hazards, high-voltage safety and rescue procedures.
• Proven ability to lead risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations.

Responsabilités

• Develop and maintain HSE management systems for transmission works.
• Lead risk assessments, JSAs, and permit-to-work processes.
• Conduct safety inspections, audits, and field observations.
• Investigate incidents and root-cause analyses with corrective actions.
• Manage contractor HSE performance and pre-qualification.
• Deliver training and toolbox talks on electrical hazards and rescue.
