Job summary

Al Tayer Group's Aveda Salon in Dubai seeks a professional hairdresser to deliver exceptional grooming services and guest experiences. You will consult with clients to choose colors, cuts, and treatments, and perform styling, coloring, and smoothing services.

You should maintain salon hygiene, build relationships with regular clients, stay up to date with trends, and coordinate with reception to maximize appointments. High standards of personal grooming and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High school qualification.
• City & Guilds Level 2 in Hairdressing.
• 3-4 years of hair cutting experience in a reputable salon.
• Knowledge of latest styles and products.

Responsibilities

• Identify client needs and recommend styles, services, and products.
• Consult at every stage of styling, advising on color, style, hair type, treatments.
• Cut, trim and style the hair.
• Provide hair coloration services from basic to artistic colorations.
• Perform permanent straightening/wave using specialized products.
• Maintain relationships with key customers and records of products used.
• Stay up to date on latest styles and product knowledge.
• Maintain grooming standards and salon cleanliness.
• Coordinate with receptionists to maximise appointments.
• Guide and supervise hair and salon assistants to maintain salon standards.

Job Purpose

To provide hair care services to enhance the appearance of customers, so that they will look and feel their best

Responsibilities

Functional Roles and Responsibilities

• Identify the needs of the customer and recommend a range of styles / services/ products that are appropriate
• Consult and provide inputs at every stage of the styling process, i.e. advising on the colour, style, hair type, treatments, etc.
• Cut, trim and style the hair of customers
• Provide hair coloration services ranging from basic to artistic colorations and highlights
• Do permanent straightening / wave using specialized products
• Maintain relationships with key customers and records of what has been used for them such as hair color shade or permanent wave formula
• Stay up to date on the latest styles / trends. Also have in-depth knowledge of the products that are used or for sale in the salon
• Maintain personal grooming standards and the cleanliness and hygiene of the salon at all times
• Coordinate with receptionists to have maximum number of appointments per day
• Guide and supervise the hair and salon assistants to ensure that they maintain the salon‘s standards

Qualifications

Education/Certification and Continued Education

• High school qualification
• Formal hair dressing qualification (City & Guilds Level 2)

Years of Experience

• 3-4 years of hair cutting experience in a reputable salon

Knowledge and Skills

• A passion for hair dressing, style and trends
• Pleasant personality and good grooming
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
