Job summary

LevelUP HCS in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Guidance and Control Engineer to develop and implement flight control software for smart weapons. The role focuses on autopilot, mission control, LAR/MPS algorithms, and 6-DOF/HILS simulations across new and existing products.

You will work with aerodynamic modeling, ensure safety and performance, analyze test data, and document design and verification activities in line with DO-178B/C and MIL-STD-882E.

Qualifications

• 4 year bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science.
• 10–15 years in smart weapons defense industry.
• Kalman filter, guidance systems and flight control experience.
• Lab and field testing experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Guidance and Control algorithms for autopilot and mission control.
• Develop LAR and MPS algorithms for release regions and mission data.
• Create 6-DOF models and participate in Hardware-in-The-Loop simulations.
• Maintain Aerodynamic model and QA validation with flight-test data.
• Participate in Lab and Flight Tests; analyze data and write reports.
• Analyze software requirements for guidance and control systems.
• Design software architecture implementing guidance algorithms with real-time safety.
• Code and implement software per coding standards and DO-178B/C MIL rules.
• Perform verification and validation with test plans and results.
• Manage configuration and traceability across requirements, design and implementation.
• Create and maintain ICD, SDD, VDD and test documentation.
• Ensure compliance with DO-178B/C and MIL-STD-882E safety standards.
• Production support: fault investigations and MRB/PCMB activities.
