Job summary

EDGE Group PJSC is seeking a Senior Engineer for Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) to lead aerospace control development lifecycle—from requirements to flight-test support. You will define control laws, perform rigorous analyses, and mentor engineers within a multidisciplinary team.

The role demands hands-on expertise in GNC, strong communication in English, and the ability to solve complex control problems, while collaborating across flight dynamics, navigation, avionics, software and safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in aerospace or safety-critical control systems.
• Hands-on experience designing and validating control laws, autopilots or control allocation.
• Strong knowledge of rigid-body dynamics, state-space modelling and frequency-domain analysis.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink, Python and C/C++.
• Experience with verification and validation through simulation, SIL/PIL/HIL or flight testing.
• Understanding of embedded software, real-time systems and requirements management.
• Excellent English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate guidance, control laws and autopilot functions for aerospace vehicles.
• Derive GNC requirements from aircraft, mission, safety and performance criteria.
• Design and implement longitudinal and lateral-directional control laws with appropriate loops and gain scheduling.
• Develop guidance algorithms ensuring dynamic feasibility within limits.
• Create and analyse trim, linear/nonlinear models and uncertainty models.
• Perform stability, robustness, modal, time-domain and frequency-domain analyses.
• Conduct Monte Carlo, worst-case, sensitivity and failure-case assessments.
• Assess actuator/sensor dynamics and delays, filtering and rate limits.
• Support SIL, PIL, HIL and flight-test activities; assist flight-test planning and analysis.
• Prepare technical requirements and verification reports; support design reviews.
