Job summary

ActiveProspect is seeking a Senior GL Accountant to join the finance team in a remote capacity based out of Austin, Texas. The role oversees complex general ledger accounts, including software capitalization, leases, debt, prepaids, payroll, and intercompany transactions.

You will manage month-end close schedules, perform reconciliations, and drive accounting automation while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure transactional integrity across operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required; CPA is a plus.
• 5+ years of progressive GL accounting experience, SaaS/tech experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, Excel, and NetSuite or similar ERP.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly journal entries and complex balance sheet reconciliations across core GL accounts.
• Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities in line with US GAAP.
• Perform flux and variance analyses to evaluate GL fluctuations.
• Collaborate with FP&A, Payroll, PeopleOps, and Legal to ensure transactional integrity.
• Support system implementations, external audits, and automation efforts.
• Maintain audit-ready accounting documentation and internal control frameworks.

Position Outline

ActiveProspect is seeking a Senior GL Accountant to join its finance department in a remote capacity based out of Austin, Texas. The position focuses on overseeing complex general ledger accounts—including software capitalization, leases, debt, prepaids, payroll, and intercompany transactions—while managing month-end close schedules, performing account reconciliations, and driving accounting automation.

Primary Duties

• Prepare monthly journal entries, complex balance sheet reconciliations, and financial schedules across all core GL accounts.
• Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities in compliance with US GAAP standards.
• Conduct flux and variance analyses using data analytics tools to evaluate general ledger fluctuations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (FP&A, Payroll, PeopleOps, Legal) to maintain transactional integrity across operations.
• Support financial system implementations, external audit requests, and process automation efforts.
• Maintain internal control frameworks and audit-ready accounting documentation.

Applicant Credentials

• Educational Credentials: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required; CPA certification is a plus.
• Work Background: 5+ years of progressive general ledger accounting experience; background in a high-growth SaaS or technology environment is preferred.
• Technical Mastery: Strong knowledge of US GAAP, advanced MS Excel, and hands‑on experience with cloud ERP software (NetSuite experience preferred).
• Location & Authorization: Remote (Austin, Texas region); must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
• Core Competencies: GL reconciliation, SaaS revenue/expense accounting, financial flux analysis, intercompany accounting, and NetSuite administration.
