Job summary

GCS is seeking a senior full‑stack engineer to lead the build workstream for an on‑prem Defence AI transformation programme in the UAE. You will design and ship full‑stack applications powering an engineering intelligence platform and autonomous enterprise agents, within a strict Stage Gate delivery model to meet security and reliability standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in full-stack engineering with production ML/AI apps.
• Proficient Python (FastAPI/Django) and one of Node.js/Go/Java.
• Experience with REST and gRPC API design.
• Familiar with API gateways (Kong, NGINX).
• Experience with PostgreSQL and vector DBs (Weaviate, Milvus).
• Docker and Kubernetes in on-prem environments.

Our client is a leading UAE sovereign AI company, partnered with a major national defence group. They build secure, enterprise-grade AI agents that automate critical finance, supply chain and engineering workflows for that group.

The role

You’ll be a technical anchor for the programme’s build workstream, designing and shipping full-stack applications that power an engineering intelligence platform and a fleet of autonomous enterprise agents. You’ll work within a structured Stage Gate delivery model, to the usability, security and reliability standards that national defence infrastructure requires.

What you’ll do

• Build AI interfaces people want to use: React/Next.js applications with streaming LLM responses, rich citations and interactive widgets.
• Orchestrate the agents: design the backend “agent of agents” layer that coordinates specialised finance and operations agents. It manages state, task routing and error handling.
• Make workflows deterministic: build task-router services and frontend state management that map user prompts to defined skills and playbooks.
• Connect AI to the enterprise core: build a secure Data Access Layer so agents can read from and write to SAP. Surface that data through dynamic dashboards and visualisations.
• Power knowledge search: build RAG backends over vector databases (Weaviate) and the search UI that renders internal knowledge and technical documents.
• Integrate external data: build connectors to third-party market and supplier data for supply chain risk scoring, plus custom UI components for comparative analysis.
• Secure the full stack: authentication, RBAC and sensitive-data redaction on the backend. XSS and CSRF protection on the frontend.
• Engineer for on-prem: secure on-premise deployment, with optimised bundles and efficient use of constrained infrastructure.
• Own reliability: end-to-end observability across frontend error tracking, logging, tracing and monitoring.

What you’ll bring

• 5+ years in full-stack engineering, including web applications that serve ML/AI in production.
• Expert Python (FastAPI/Django), plus Node.js, Go or Java for high-performance services.
• REST and gRPC API design. Experience with API gateways (Kong, NGINX).
• PostgreSQL and vector databases (Weaviate, Milvus).
• Docker and Kubernetes in on-premise environments.
• A track record on mission-critical, auditable systems, ideally in fintech, healthcare or defence.
• Comfort shipping Agile sprints that pass rigorous Stage Gate and systems-engineering reviews.
• ERP integration (SAP, OData, SOAP).
• Building chat or agent UIs on top of LLMs.
• Regulated or high-security deployments.
