About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer with at least five years of experience building production web applications. You will own significant pieces of the user-facing product — from component architecture and state management to performance, accessibility, and developer experience. You'll partner closely with designers, product managers, and backend engineers to ship polished, fast, and reliable interfaces, and you'll raise the bar for code quality and engineering practices across the team.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain user-facing features across our web application using a modern React + TypeScript stack.
- Develop and evolve a shared component library and design system primitives used by multiple product teams.
- Own frontend performance: Core Web Vitals, bundle size, runtime jank, and rendering efficiency at scale.
- Establish and enforce patterns for state management, data fetching, and component composition.
- Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests; champion an automated testing culture.
- Collaborate with design on UI/UX implementation, including motion, responsive layouts, and accessibility.
- Partner with backend engineers to define and evolve API contracts (REST and/or GraphQL).
- Conduct rigorous code reviews, mentor mid-level and junior engineers, and contribute to architectural decisions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional frontend engineering experience on customer-facing web products.
- Deep proficiency in TypeScript and React (or comparable frameworks such as Vue/Svelte, with strong React fundamentals).
- Strong command of HTML, modern CSS (Flexbox, Grid, Container Queries), and cross-browser behavior.
- Production experience with at least one routing framework (Next.js, Remix, or similar) and a state/data layer (Redux, Zustand, React Query, TanStack, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with build tooling (Vite, Webpack, Turbopack) and modern testing frameworks (Vitest/Jest, Testing Library, Playwright or Cypress).
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose and fix performance issues — bundle analysis, profiling, lazy loading, virtualization.
- Practical knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA) and assistive technologies.
- Solid collaboration and communication skills; comfortable working in cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience building or scaling a design system consumed across multiple applications.
- Familiarity with server components, streaming SSR, and edge runtimes.
- Micro-frontend architecture experience (Module Federation, single-spa, etc.).
- Animation and interaction work with Framer Motion, GSAP, or WebGL/Canvas.
- Internationalization (i18n) and localization at scale.
- Contributions to open-source projects or technical writing / public speaking.
