Job summary

Tektora are seeking an experienced Senior FPGA Designer to join the software-defined radio hardware team in Abu Dhabi. The role is on-site and permanent, with relocation supported for the right candidate. You will lead end-to-end FPGA work on SDR platforms, including design, verification and DSP algorithm optimization.

Ideal candidates will have 10+ years of FPGA experience, strong VHDL/Verilog skills, and proficiency in Tcl and Bash. Python and RF test equipment experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on FPGA design experience.
• Proven track record in VHDL/Verilog for FPGA.
• Proficient scripting in Tcl and Bash.

Responsibilities

• Designing, simulating, coding and verifying FPGA projects for SDR applications.
• Developing and optimizing digital signal processing algorithms in fabric.
• Carrying out timing analysis for large, high-speed FPGA designs.
• Owning complex VHDL and Verilog projects end to end, including documentation.
• Driving projects from study and simulation through implementation to test.
• Supporting evaluation and integration of control boards and platforms.
• Occasional troubleshooting and customer project support.
• Contributing to team development and processes beyond delivery.

Tektora are supporting an established defence technology client building software-defined radio products in Abu Dhabi, and are looking to speak with experienced FPGA designers for their hardware systems team.

This role is open to relocation.

The client is actively considering candidates from outside the UAE and will support the move for the right person.

The Role

You Will Be Involved In

• Designing, simulating, coding and verifying FPGA projects for software-defined radio applications
• Developing and optimising digital signal processing algorithms in fabric
• Carrying out timing analysis on large, high-speed FPGA designs
• Owning complex VHDL and Verilog projects end to end, including the documentation
• Driving projects from study and simulation through implementation to test
• Supporting the evaluation and introduction of control boards and platforms
• Occasional troubleshooting and support on customer projects
• Contributing to how the team develops, not just what it delivers

Key Experience Required

• 10+ years of relevant hands-on experience
• Proven track record in VHDL or Verilog for FPGA
• Scripting in Tcl and Bash
• BSc or higher in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or similar

Desirable Experience
