Job Summary

The Senior Foreman (Bus AC Maintenance) is responsible for managing all aspects of air conditioning maintenance and repair for the bus fleet to ensure efficient and reliable climate control systems. This role involves supervising a skilled team scheduling and monitoring maintenance tasks and ensuring compliance with all safety, environmental and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities
1. Maintenance & Repair Operations
  • Oversee comprehensive inspection, diagnostics, repair and servicing of bus AC systems including compressors, condensers, evaporators, blower motors and related components.
  • Diagnose system malfunctions including refrigerant leaks, electrical faults and mechanical failures.
  • Ensure installation and replacement activities are performed accurately and timely.
  • Maintain detailed and up-to-date records of all maintenance activities, repair logs and inventory levels.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to reduce system downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
2. Team Leadership & Supervision
  • Lead, supervise and motivate a team of AC technicians to achieve high performance and operational excellence.
  • Allocate daily work assignments, monitor progress and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Conduct training sessions to enhance team technical skills and safety awareness.
  • Perform performance appraisals and provide constructive feedback.
  • Enforce strict adherence to workplace safety policies and procedures.
3. Compliance & Quality Assurance
  • Ensure maintenance and repair work complies with industry regulations, company standards and environmental laws (e.g., refrigerant handling).
  • Collaborate with fleet and operations managers to schedule maintenance activities with minimal impact on bus availability.
  • Monitor environmental safety standards related to refrigerant use and disposal.
  • Promote a culture of quality and safety within the maintenance team.
4. Inventory & Cost Management
  • Track and manage the availability of spare parts, tools and equipment essential for maintenance tasks.
  • Liaise with procurement to ensure timely and cost‑effective sourcing of quality parts.
  • Monitor maintenance‑related expenses and identify opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality.
  • Manage documentation related to parts usage, maintenance costs and budget compliance.
Requirements
  • Diploma or certification in HVAC, Refrigeration, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 15 years of hands‑on experience in AC maintenance with at least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Extensive knowledge of bus HVAC systems and associated troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics and blueprints.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Basic computer proficiency for reporting and record‑keeping.
  • Valid UAE driving license preferred.
