Job summary

WSP in the Middle East is seeking a Senior Consultant – Fire & Life Safety to join our team in the UAE. You will develop fire and life safety strategies for large-scale projects, perform technical reviews, and engage with clients, authorities, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with local and international codes.

Responsibilities include design oversight, compliance audits, risk assessments, testing and commissioning, and stakeholder coordination.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Fire Safety Engineering, Fire Engineering, or closely related discipline.
Pursuing professional license or certifications (PE, CEng, CFPS or equivalent) are highly desirable.
8–12 years of experience in fire life safety/protection engineering consulting.
Knowledge of UAE building codes, international codes (IBC, NFPA, BS) and standards.
Experience in fire protection design, detection and alarm, smoke control, risk assessments, and audits.

Responsibilities

Design oversight: provide input on fire and life safety systems and prepare design submissions and strategy reports.
Compliance & inspection: verify designs meet local and international codes; assist with audits and site visits.
Risk management: contribute to fire risk assessments and mitigation strategies for large projects.
Testing & commissioning: support integrated testing to ensure regulatory compliance.
Stakeholder collaboration: coordinate with architects, contractors, clients and authorities.
Team development: mentor junior consultants and promote best practices in fire safety engineering.
Business development: assist bids, proposals and client meetings.
Thought leadership: contribute to technical publications and industry forums.
