GeoWorld is looking for a Senior Field Engineer to join their Installation Engineering Team in Dubai. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of installation methods and engineering support. Job description

Do you want to work on an international Project Engineering Team? Are you creative, innovative, and ready to face new challenges every day in the offshore industry with an engineering background?

THE POSITION

As a Senior Field Engineer, you will be part of the Installation Engineering Team based in our UAE office and work in direct cooperation with the HQ in the Netherlands to deliver high-value solutions for our projects and organization. You will collaborate with E&E Engineering, Project Management and Operations to ensure that installation methods can be safely and reliably executed with the installation vessel(s). Your role includes early onshore preparations and engineering support through to completion of installation, and supports the Offshore Construction Manager with all onboard engineering aspects during offshore installation.

YOUR IMPACT

• Verify and advise pipeline installation stress‑strain configuration relative to each pipeline section.
• Perform basic engineering calculations or consult/coordinate with the Engineering Department in line with Van Oord engineering standards.
• Verify and direct pipe tally and manage offshore pipe load‑out sequences with logistics and pipe supply.
• Verify engineering and work preparations of task plans or lifting plans.
• Ensure that the latest applicable revision of project documentation is available onboard.

YOUR WORKPLACE

• University degree in Mechanical / Civil / Marine Engineering.
• Minimum 3 rotational calendar years of offshore pipeline installation experience, including spool pieces and tie‑ins with anchored pipelay barges.
• Fully familiar with day‑to‑day offshore vessel operations in the oil and gas industry, including logistics.
• Fully familiar with vessel mobilization/demobilization operations, subcontractor management, and meetings.
• Proven experience with pipeline shore pulls (open cut, HDD).
• Proven experience with Single Point Mooring buoy installation.
• Preferably experience with cable and umbilical installation.
