Wood is currently recruiting a Senior Expeditor for its UAE business unit. This is a full‑time onsite position in Sharjah, UAE with a travel requirement.
Responsibilities
This role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Expeditor to join our UAE Business Unit. The responsibilities include:
- Establishing priorities, assigning workloads and reviewing the more difficult and complex aspects of the expediting workload.
- Responsible for the desk and field expediting of all Project Purchase Orders through to FCA readiness.
- Updating system with the expediting status of purchase orders.
- Obtaining quotations for field expediting plans and CVs of third‑party expediting providers.
- Expediting the engineering team for timely document approvals.
- Notifying Supply Chain focal points of any potential schedule slippages.
- Setting expediting follow‑up dates in the relevant system.
- Checking field expediting manufacturing schedules.
- Liaising with field expediting suppliers to coordinate expediting visits.
- Receiving field expediting progress reports and updating the relevant systems.
- Issuing expediting reports as required by the project.
- Demonstrating commitment to safe working practices.

Qualifications
- Degree qualification.
- Minimum of 10 years of expediting experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Detailed knowledge of materials and document expediting practices.
- Strong team player.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Previous experience in a similar level role.
- Previous use of ERPs such as Maximo, Oracle, SAP.
- Broad knowledge of suppliers in the Middle East region, ideally in the UAE and Iraq.
