Job summary

Bakkt LLC is seeking an experienced risk leader to own end‑to‑end risk management in a lean, fast‑scaling fintech environment. Reporting to the Head of Risk, you will function as the solo ERM contributor, shaping risk governance, controls, and analytics for digital assets and regulated services.

You will design and operationalize the risk lifecycle, collaborate with First Line, and drive AI/automation to scale risk monitoring, assessments, and remediation with executive visibility and regulatory

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of progressive, hands‑on experience in enterprise risk management, internal audit, or compliance.
• Ability to drive execution through cross‑functional influence as an individual contributor in the Second Line.
• Solid understanding of the crypto and blockchain ecosystem, digital assets and their risk profiles.
• Regulated environment experience with NYDFS, SEC, MiCA or comparable regimes preferred.
• Strong stakeholder management and executive presence with non‑technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and improve the Enterprise Risk Management framework, risk taxonomy, registers, and risk appetite for digital assets and regulated financial services.
• Provide strategic direction for risk mitigation and operational improvement with First Line partners.
• Validate remediation actions and report progress to leadership and the Risk Committee.
• Lead change management for ERM transformations and cross‑functional risk strategies.
• Embrace AI and automation to accelerate Second Line activities and risk monitoring.
• Prepare risk reporting and insights for the Head of Risk, Board, and regulators.
