Job Purpose

To support the development, implementation and delivery of Environmental and sustainable development policies and compliance/governance requirements during various environmental studies and projects execution. Provide support as the point of reference and technical authority on all environmental studies and special projects related to compliance, pollution prevention and energy/resource management within ENOC group.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Design and develop project related Environmental manuals and guidelines in line with international best practices for approval by ENOC management.
  • Review designs of new projects across ENOC groups to ensure they are in full compliance with ENOC HSE Policy and standards and applicable local and international regulations.
  • Conduct Environmental reviews of various major projects at various stages of the project life cycle to oversee, monitor and improve Environmental risk management.
  • Identify environmental issues, recommend solutions, and ensure compliance with federal, municipal, and local regulations with respect to environmental hazards.
  • Develop strategies and plans for eliminating or minimizing Hazardous waste generations and emissions including flaring.
  • Develop ENOC Group wide standards covering the objectives, expectations and methodology of performing various environmental studies in line with the applicable local, federal and international best practices.
  • Provide general environmental support to ENOC Segments/Business units in conducting various environmental studies including EIA, ESA, EMP and Carbon footprint, sustainability and climate change studies.
  • Review construction environmental management plans of cofactors and ensure they fully implement the same.
  • Liaise with federal, municipal and local agencies, and with customers on environmental issues, and with national and international professional bodies by sharing international best practices in EHS domain.
  • Responsible for developing and executing programs to ensure regulatory compliance obligations are fulfilled in a cost-effective manner, and that environmental risks are successfully managed.
  • Communicate environmental requirements to site employees, contractors, and customers and launch environmental awareness programs for staff and contractors.
  • Conduct major environmental incident investigations across ENOC including overseas facilities.
  • Develop and deliver specialist environmental training to project managers, HSE Managers and Contractor management.
  • Lead the vendor prequalification and approval process and perform tender HSE evaluation from environmental perspective.
Additional Principal Accountabilities
Experience
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Civil or Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science. A Master’s degree is these subjects is preferable.
  • Must have at least five years post qualification experience in chemical, petrochemical, oil and gas industry or eight years in any reputed environmental consultancy organisation in the field of environmental or HSE services.
  • A certified ISO 14001 lead auditor qualification is preferable.
  • Analytical and research skills. This includes data analysis and investigative analytical skills and ability to research and present key information in a clear and concise way.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal communication.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Computer literate (eg Microsoft Office programs, analytical software).
