Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer (Site) for a major project in Abu Dhabi, UAE. You will oversee on-site structural engineering activities, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance across all construction phases while coordinating with architects, contractors, and project management teams.

You will act as a technical authority, mentor junior staff, and lead structural initiatives on high-profile developments in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12+ years of site-based structural engineering experience.
• Experience overseeing on-site structural engineering operations.
• Strong knowledge of UAE building codes and site safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive structural inspections and quality control assessments throughout all construction phases to ensure compliance with approved designs and local building codes
• Analyze structural performance data and field conditions, providing technical recommendations and solutions to address design or construction challenges
• Prepare and review detailed technical documentation, including inspection reports, structural calculations, and compliance certifications
• Supervise and coordinate structural work activities on-site, ensuring adherence to engineering specifications and safety protocols
• Collaborate with design teams to evaluate design modifications and assess their structural implications
• Manage material testing and verification processes, ensuring all structural components meet specified standards and quality requirements
• Conduct site meetings and communicate technical findings to stakeholders, contractors, and project teams in a clear and professional manner
• Mentor junior engineering staff and provide technical guidance on structural engineering matters
• Maintain organized records of all structural inspections, test results, and project documentation
• Ensure compliance with UAE building codes, regulations, and industry best practices throughout the project lifecycle
