Job summary

EDGE in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Senior Engineer - Power Electronics for Halcon to design, test, and optimize advanced power electronic subsystems. The role requires 8+ years in power electronics, strong analog/digital/embedded control knowledge, and experience with SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, and Altium. Defence/IP exposure is a plus.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Senior Engineer - Power Electronics for Halcon to support the design, development, testing, and optimization of advanced power electronics products and subsystems.The role focuses on high-frequency power conversion, motor drives, analog power electronics, and embedded motion control systems.The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver reliable, high-performance products from concept through verification and qualification.This position offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative power electronics solutions in a technically challenging environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and develop power electronics subsystems, including high-frequency power converters, motor drives, and analog power products.
• Develop and implement embedded closed-loop control solutions to achieve required system performance and reliability.
• Perform simulation, validation, testing, and optimization of power electronics designs using industry-standard engineering tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams while supporting design reviews, technical documentation, and product verification activities.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in power electronics engineering, specializing in high-frequency power conversion and motion control systems.
• Strong knowledge of analog, digital, and embedded control systems, including product design, integration, and verification.
• Proficiency with SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, Altium, and other power electronics design and simulation tools.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience within the defence, aerospace, or other safety-critical engineering industries.
• Experience with embedded firmware development and power electronics certification or compliance standards.
