Job summary

Penspen is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead onshore construction projects in Abu Dhabi. Candidates should have over 15 years of experience, preferably in onshore structural construction within the oil and gas sector. Responsibilities include supervising structural activities, ensuring compliance with standards, and coordinating with contractors.

A strong background in civil/structural engineering along with excellent communication skills in English are essential. Knowledge of HSE requirements and international construction codes is advantageous.

Qualifications

• 15+ years total experience.
• 3–5 years in onshore structural construction (oil & gas).
• PMC / EPC construction background preferred.

Penspen is hiring a Senior Engineer – Onshore Construction (Structure) to support major onshore oil & gas construction projects.

Experience Required

• 15+ years total experience
• 3–5 years in onshore structural construction (oil & gas)
• PMC / EPC construction background preferred
• Strong knowledge of structural works, foundations, steel & concrete structures
• Familiar with international structural codes and HSE standards
• ADNOC Onshore experience is an advantage

Location: Yard, UAE

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage onshore structural construction activities including steel structures, foundations, concrete works, and buildings
• Ensure construction works comply with approved drawings, project specifications, and industry standards
• Coordinate with construction contractors, site teams, and engineering disciplines
• Monitor construction progress and report status against schedule and milestones
• Review and support constructability, method statements, and work procedures
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and promote safe construction practices
• Support inspections, testing, and quality control activities
• Assist with commissioning and handover of structural works

Technical & Professional Skills

• Strong knowledge of onshore structural construction methods
• Familiar with international codes and standards (ACI, AISC, BS, ISO, etc.)
• Experience with construction sequencing, lifting plans, and temporary works
• Strong understanding of HSE requirements for onshore construction environments
• Ability to manage contractors and work effectively in site-based teams
