Job summary

EDGE Group PJSC in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a Senior Engineer - Mass & Balance to oversee aircraft mass properties across the development lifecycle. You will lead mass estimation, weight control, CG, and inertia calculations, collaborating with multi-disciplinary aerospace teams.

The role requires a strong background in mass properties, CAD/BOM data, and mass-change management, with a track record of producing mass-property reports and supporting design reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical, Structural, or Systems Engineering.
• Typically 10+ years of relevant aerospace engineering experience.
• Strong experience in aircraft mass properties / mass & balance.
• Experience with weight statements, mass breakdowns, centre of gravity and inertia calculations.
• Experience in mass control, mass growth, allocations and margins.
• Experience working with CAD, BOM, supplier and manufacturing data.
• Proficiency in spreadsheets and engineering analysis tools.
• Professional proficiency in written and spoken English.

• Collaborate with Design, Aerodynamics, Performance, Structures, Flight Controls, Systems, Manufacturing and Flight Test teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to improving mass-property tools and processes.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Engineer - Mass & Balance will be responsible for managing aircraft mass properties and balance activities across the aerial vehicle development lifecycle. The role will support mass estimation, weight control, centre of gravity, inertia, aircraft weighing, verification, and technical reporting while working closely with multidisciplinary aerospace engineering teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical, Structural, Systems Engineering or a related discipline.
• Typically 10+ years of relevant aerospace engineering experience.
• Strong experience in aircraft mass properties / mass & balance.
• Experience with weight statements, mass breakdowns, centre of gravity and inertia calculations.
• Experience in mass control, mass growth, allocations and margins.
• Experience working with CAD, BOM, supplier and manufacturing data.
• Proficiency in spreadsheets and engineering analysis tools.
• Professional proficiency in written and spoken English.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aircraft Design, Flight Mechanics, Structures or a related field.
• Experience with aircraft weighing and mass-property verification.
• Experience with MATLAB, CAD, PLM or dedicated mass-properties software.
• Experience with measurement uncertainty, calibration and tare corrections
• Experience supporting PDR, CDR, TRR, flight readiness or similar programme reviews.
