Damac Properties in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design and oversee mechanical systems for data center projects, including HVAC, cooling, piping, BMS, and fire suppression.

You will mentor engineers, manage project teams, and ensure integration with architects and electrical engineers in a fast-paced environment. CFD modelling experience for early design phases is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Master's degree is a plus.
• PE license preferred.
• 5+ years experience in mechanical design and engineering, Data Center projects or similar facilities.
• Proficiency in CAD software AutoCAD and SolidWorks, plus engineering analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of HVAC, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer.
• Excellent problem-solving and collaborative skills.
• Ability to develop and use CFD modelling tools in early design phase.

Responsabilités

• Create detailed drawings, specifications, and documentation for mechanical systems.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to assess installations and provide technical support during construction and commissioning.
• Assist in evaluation and selection of mechanical equipment for Data Center projects.
• Stay current with industry trends and CFD tools for early design phases.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Design and develop mechanical systems for Data Center projects, including HVAC systems, cooling systems,
• piping systems, public health systems, BMS, and fire suppression systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, electrical engineers, and project managers, to
• ensure the successful integration of mechanical systems into Data Center designs.
• Manage a team of engineers to deliver projects and meet tight deadlines.
• Mentor junior engineers and familiarize them with the various design standards and industry best practices
• including company’s design guidelines.
• Perform calculations, simulations, and analysis to optimize the performance and energy efficiency of
• mechanical systems.
• Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation for mechanical systems in
• compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to assess mechanical system installations and provide technical support
• during construction and commissioning phases.
• Assist in the evaluation and selection of mechanical equipment and components for Data Center projects.
• Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in Data Center mechanical design

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's degree is a plus.
• Professional engineering license (PE) is preferred.
• 5+ years solid experience in mechanical design and engineering, specifically in Data Center projects or similar mission-critical facilities.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and engineering analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer principles.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
• Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate a complete ability to develop and use CFD modelling tools for the early design phase
