Job summary

EDGE Group PJSC in the UAE seeks a Senior Embedded Software Verification Engineer for Halcon to lead verification and DT&E activities for embedded software, managing requirements, test procedures, traceability, test execution, and reporting.

You will support software qualification/certification activities and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, with strong C and Python skills and DO-178C experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronic or Computer Engineering or related discipline.
• 8+ years software engineering experience with at least 2 years in DT&E.
• Strong embedded software verification, tracing, and requirements management experience.
• Proficiency in C and Python; experience with Jama or similar requirements tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage software verification plans, procedures, and traceability across variants.
• Plan and lead embedded software testing and DT&E activities with test benches and teams.
• Investigate failures and deviations; ensure verification of requirements.
• Prepare TEMP, VCRM, and related technical documentation; mentor junior engineers.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Embedded Software Verification Engineer for Halcon will lead and execute verification and DT&E activities for embedded software, managing requirements, test procedures, traceability, test execution, and reporting. The role will also support software qualification/certification activities and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and manage software verification plans, test procedures, test reports, and requirements traceability across product variants.
• Plan, coordinate, and lead embedded software testing and DT&E activities, including test benches, simulators, resources, and test teams.
• Drive the investigation and resolution of test failures, deviations, and verification issues, ensuring requirements are successfully verified.
• Prepare and maintain Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMP), VCRMs, and technical documentation, while mentoring junior verification engineers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years in software DT&E.
• Strong experience in embedded software verification, including black-box/white-box testing, requirements management, traceability, and software system/subsystem DT&E.
• Proficiency in C and Python, with experience using GIT or SVN and requirements management tools such as Jama.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with DO-178C software certification, preferably Level A, particularly within the military or aviation domain.
• Advanced experience with automated verification tools and hardware debugging/test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG debuggers; ISTQB certification is an advantage.
