KBR is seeking a Senior Engineer, Automation for the Abu Dhabi site on a PMC project, with extensive experience in MEGA EPC environments. You will review automation systems, develop specifications, and coordinate with maintenance and vendors to ensure safe, reliable operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Instrumentation / Automation Engineering or equivalent.
  • 15 years’ experience in design, installation, commissioning and CS validation for automation in a large industrial setting, preferably Oil & Gas.
  • Professional Certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Review and coordinate activities of process automation systems installations.
  • Assess existing ICS, DCS and process control systems for obsolescence and integration.
  • Develop specifications, documentation and training materials for modifications.
  • Coordinate with site maintenance for vendor support, upgrades and commissioning.
  • Provide expertise in Real-time Process Information Management and Laboratory Information Management systems.
  • Support optimization, alarm management and MES applications; assist in bid evaluations.

KBR is looking for Senior Engineer, Automation with experience in MEGA EPC projects to be based in Abu Dhabi Site for PMC project.


JOB PURPOSE

Review, analyze and coordinate the activities of process automation systems installations, provide technical expertise in engineering design and contribute to the process automation projects to ensure efficient systems.


Key Accountabilities

Job Specific: Assess existing systems (ICS, DCS, Process Control Systems, and Real-Time Plant Information and Laboratory Management Systems) on obsolescence, spare parts availability, vendor support, inter-operability and integration for a safe and reliable system operation conforming to Company and International standards. Audit the performance of systems, identify opportunities for process performance monitoring and improvements to ensure that the systems conform to applicable standards. Provide support in development & updating of the technical specification document and conduct economic feasibility studies to evaluate financial and technical viability of applications. Develop system functional specifications, design & as-built documentation, user manuals, training materials for minor modifications carried out in the existing applications. Co-ordinate with site maintenance personnel for development of Vendor support, modifications and upgrades. Provide Technical & Engineering expertise to Plants in the field of Real-time Process Information Management system and Laboratory Information management system. Provide operational, technical and engineering expertise in the field of Optimization, Alarm Management, Control Loop Performance Monitoring and higher level MES applications. Develop scope of work, tender documents, participate in the technical bid evaluation to meet systems requirements as per Company standards and specifications. Co-ordinate / participate in the implementation of approved projects including installation and commissioning and future upgrades to ensure timely completion within the budget. Perform other similar or related duties, as required.


Supervision · Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives. · Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.


Budgets · Provide input for preparation of the functional budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver Section objectives. · Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.


Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures · Implement approved Section / Department policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the Section’s / Department work programs in line with Company and International standards.


Performance Management · Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the function in line with the Company Performance framework.


Innovation and Continuous Improvement · Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes. · Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with best Industry standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.


Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability · Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, and Code of Practices.


Reports · Provide inputs to prepare Section MIS and progress reports for Company Management.


Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

Minimum Qualification Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Instrumentation / Automation Engineering or equivalent.


Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills 15 years’ experience in design, installation, commissioning, operations continuing maintenance, testing and CS validation relating to automation systems within a large industrial organization, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry.
