Job summary
EDGE's ADVANCED CONCEPTS unit in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced embedded software engineer to architect and implement complex systems for autonomous platforms. You will work on bare-metal firmware for Cortex-M MCUs, Linux drivers, RTOS integration, and high-performance multimedia pipelines using V4L2, GStreamer, and FFmpeg, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
You will mentor junior engineers, participate in code reviews, and push for robust, scalable solutions with Git/SVN workflows,
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's in computer science, electronics or software engineering.
- 15+ years of embedded software engineering experience.
- Strong ARM64 and Cortex-M knowledge.
- Expertise in Linux driver and kernel development.
- Experience with RTOS on microcontrollers and bare-metal firmware.
- Familiarity with V4L2, CAN/UART/I2C/SPI protocols.
Responsibilities
- Architect and design complex embedded systems with real-time constraints.
- Develop and maintain bare-metal firmware for Cortex-M MCUs.
- Develop Linux drivers and kernel modules for custom hardware.
- Implement user-space apps using V4L2, GStreamer, FFmpeg.
- Lead and mentor junior engineers and review code.
- Collaborate across teams and stay updated on embedded tech.
