Job summary

MarketMingle PNG is seeking a Senior Edge Computing Deployment Specialist to plan, coordinate, configure, and optimize edge environments across distributed networks. This fully remote role focuses on deployment architecture, performance monitoring, and operational support.

You will design deployment strategies, assess workloads and latency, configure edge servers and gateways, and collaborate with cloud architects, network engineers, and security teams to ensure scalable and secure edge

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• Significant experience in edge computing, distributed infrastructure, cloud engineering or systems deployment.
• Strong understanding of edge computing architecture, distributed processing and hybrid cloud environments.
• Experience with Linux server administration, virtualization and container technologies.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes or similar container orchestration platforms.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud edge services.
• Understanding of networking, VPNs, DNS, firewalls and secure connectivity.
• Experience with Ansible, Terraform or similar automation/configuration management tools.
• Knowledge of monitoring, observability, logging and performance management.

Responsibilities

• Design and coordinate deployment strategies for distributed edge computing environments.
• Assess workload, connectivity, latency and processing needs to define edge configurations.
• Develop deployment plans for edge servers, gateways and compute nodes.

• Coordinate remote provisioning, installation planning and commissioning with local teams.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Edge Computing Deployment Specialist to plan, coordinate, configure, and optimize edge computing environments across distributed enterprise networks. The successful candidate will support the deployment of edge infrastructure, including edge servers, gateways, containerized workloads, network connectivity, and remote management platforms. This fully remote position focuses on deployment architecture, technical configuration, performance monitoring, infrastructure integration, and operational support.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and coordinate deployment strategies for distributed edge computing environments.
• Assess application, workload, connectivity, latency, and processing requirements to determine suitable edge infrastructure configurations.
• Develop deployment plans for edge servers, gateways, compute nodes, and associated infrastructure.
• Configure and support edge computing platforms across distributed and hybrid cloud environments.
• Coordinate remote provisioning, installation planning, configuration, and commissioning activities with local technical teams.
• Support containerized and virtualized workloads using technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and lightweight orchestration platforms.
• Integrate edge environments with centralized cloud platforms, enterprise networks, monitoring systems, and data management services.
• Define deployment standards, configuration templates, infrastructure documentation, and operational procedures.
• Monitor edge node availability, resource utilization, network performance, application latency, and system health.

• Maintain deployment records, architecture diagrams, configuration inventories, incident reports, and technical documentation.
• Identify opportunities to automate edge provisioning, monitoring, configuration management, and deployment workflows.
• Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to distributed support and engineering teams.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Significant experience in edge computing, distributed infrastructure, cloud engineering, or systems deployment.
• Strong understanding of edge computing architecture, distributed processing, and hybrid cloud environments.
• Experience with Linux server administration, virtualization, and container technologies.
• Practical knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or comparable container orchestration platforms.
• Familiarity with cloud and edge services offered by major providers such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals, including routing, switching, VPNs, DNS, firewalls, and secure connectivity.
• Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or equivalent platforms.
• Knowledge of remote monitoring, observability, logging, and performance management solutions.
• Understanding of edge security principles, including device identity, access control, encryption, and secure software updates.
• Experience supporting distributed infrastructure deployments and coordinating geographically dispersed technical teams.
• Ability to analyze system performance, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and recommend practical solutions.
• Familiarity with IoT integration, industrial edge platforms, or real-time data processing is advantageous.
• Strong technical documentation, communication, project coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Relevant certifications in cloud computing, Kubernetes, networking, Linux administration, or infrastructure engineering are advantageous.
