Job summary

Confidential Company is seeking a senior Electrical, Instrumentation and Telecom Design Lead in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. You will guide the detailed design for large projects, mentor junior engineers, and ensure timely, compliant engineering deliverables.

Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and lighting/EMC software is required. The role emphasizes collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams, adherence to industry standards, and optimization of cost and constructability across modular and oil & gas

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Extensive experience in electrical, instrumentation and telecom design.
• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux and Relux.

Responsibilities

• Lead detailed design of Electrical, Instrumentation and Telecom Systems for projects.

Job description

Lead and manage the electrical instrumentation and telecom section of projects from initiation to handover. Act as the primary point of contact with clients, providing technical expertise, addressing client concerns, and ensuring that project goals are met.

Responsibilities

• Carry out detailed design of Electrical, Instrumentation, and Telecom Systems for various projects.
• Provide technical guidance and expertise to junior engineers and designers, mentoring them in design, general engineering principles, and current industrial practices.
• Develop and review detailed designs, plans, and calculations for each project.
• Review and prepare engineering deliverables lists in accordance with the scope of contract, ensuring timely issuance of documentation.
• Prepare engineering calculations such as Cable Sizing, Voltage Drop, Cable Tray Sizing, Short Circuit, Lighting Design, and Load calculations.
• Collaborate with designers on Fire, Gas, and Fire Suppression System Layouts and schematics.
• Design and select Fire, Gas Detection, and Suppression systems for modular buildings, adhering to relevant codes and standards.
• Prepare Site Survey Reports, Installation Method Statements, and Design Basis Documents.
• Develop engineering designs per project scope and provide inputs to the drafting team for drawings like EIT equipment layouts, lighting layouts, small power layouts, and cable tray layouts.
• Maintain accurate and organized project documentation, including design changes, correspondence, and project records.
• Review drawing outputs for conformance with project requirements and technical detail, and verify constructability and maintainability.
• Coordinate with other discipline engineers to ensure seamless integration of EIT designs into the overall project.
• Optimize engineering designs to minimize material usage, reduce construction costs, and improve sustainability and profitability.
• Prepare material requisitions for the Electrical, Instrumentation, and Telecom discipline and work with procurement for technical and commercial evaluation of materials.
• Manage project budgets related to material selection and procurement.
• Conduct site fabrication yard visits to ensure systems are installed according to design specifications and approved drawings.
• Identify potential risks and hazards related to design and construction, and develop mitigation strategies.
• Organize, conduct, and attend technical clarification, evaluation, and progress review meetings with clients, third‑party design consultants, project management, and fabrication teams.
• Prioritize safety in all aspects of electrical and instrumentation work, maintaining compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices.
• Suggest and develop innovative and cost‑effective solutions to complex engineering challenges.
• Stay current with industry trends, codes, and emerging technologies through ongoing professional development and training.
• Adhere to company policies and maintain confidentiality of all vital design and project information.
• Ensure knowledge of international codes and standards such as NEC, NFPA, IEC, EN, and BS relevant to the discipline.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 12+ years of relevant experience in a similar role.
• Strong proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux, and Relux.
• Experience in Industrial and Oil & Gas / Petrochemical projects is preferred.
• Familiarity with sector‑specific documentation requirements, applicable standards, and project compliance procedures.
• Experience with modular building projects will be considered an added advantage.
