Job summary

UrbaCon Contracting & Trading Company in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Senior Distribution Equipment Operator. You will operate forklifts, cranes, conveyors, and other equipment to transport steel products within production facilities and distribution areas, ensuring safe and efficient movement of materials.

You will maintain records of movement, comply with safety rules, perform pre-operational checks, coordinate with production and shipping teams, and look for ways to improve flow and reduce handling

Qualifications

• Experience with forklifts, cranes and other material-handling machinery.
• Knowledge of steel product handling, storage and distribution requirements.
• Understanding of safety standards, load balancing and hazardous material handling.
• Ability to track material movement and assist with inventory control procedures.
• ERP knowledge with SAP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts, cranes, conveyors to move steel products.
• Load/unload materials from trucks, conveyors and storage areas.
• Maintain records of material movement, stock levels, and logs.
• Follow safety regulations, PPE usage, load capacities and checks.
• Inspect materials for damage and report defects.
• Perform pre-operational checks and routine maintenance.
• Coordinate with production, warehouse and shipping teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve movement efficiency and reduce handling time.
• Respond to emergencies including equipment malfunctions and spills.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations for handling and waste.

Job Summary

The Senior Distribution Equipment Operator is responsible for operating material handling equipment to transport,load, and unload steel products within the production facility and distribution areas. This role ensures thesafe and effi cient movement of raw materials, fi nished goods, and scrap while adhering to operational andsafety standards.

Job Responsibilities 1

• Operate forklifts, cranes, conveyors, and other material handling equipment to move steel products.
• Safely load and unload steel materials from trucks, conveyors, and storage areas as per standard operatingprocedures.
• Maintain accurate records of material movement, stock levels, and distribution logs.
• Follow all workplace safety regulations, including PPE usage, load capacity limits, and equipmentmaintenance checks.
• Inspect materials for damage before transportation and report any defects or irregularities.
• Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on handling equipment to ensure operationalreadiness.
• Work closely with production, warehouse, and shipping teams to ensure smooth material fl ow.
• Identify opportunities for improving material movement effi ciency and reducing handling time.
• Be prepared to respond to emergency situations, including equipment malfunctions and load spills.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations for material handling and waste disposal.

Job Knowledge & Skills

• Experience in operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material-handling machinery.
• Understanding of steel product handling, storage, and distribution requirements.
• Knowledge of workplace safety standards, load balancing, and hazardous material handling.
• Ability to track material movement and assist with inventory control procedures.
• ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.

Job Experience

Minimum 3 years working experience, 2 years relevant working experience, 1 year GCC experience is a plus
