Job summary

Miral Experiences in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Senior Manager of Animal Training and Behavioural Programs to lead the institution's training, welfare monitoring, and ambassador animal initiatives across mammals, birds, reptiles, and more.

You will embed behavioural science into daily operations, work with vets, curators, welfare teams, and conservation colleagues to enhance welfare, safety, and visitor engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
• Doctoral degree or advanced qualification in related fields is desirable.
• Experience in zoological institutions and animal welfare science is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic development and continuous improvement of all animal training and behavioural programs across the institution.
• Oversee training frameworks based on positive reinforcement and welfare science to ensure consistent standards across departments.
• Develop cooperative medical training programs to reduce stress during veterinary procedures and improve preventive care.
• Collaborate with Veterinary Services and Animal Welfare teams to identify behavioural solutions that enhance patient care.
• Establish frameworks for behavioural observation, welfare assessment, and data analysis to support welfare management.
