Job summary

SLP Engineering Lanka Pvt Ltd in Dubai is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to lead electrical systems design for major building projects. You will work on HT/LT/ELV/ICA systems and develop detailed schematics while coordinating with clients and contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in building services/MEP electrical design.

• Experience on hotels, high-rise, residential, mixed-use and industrial projects a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems per project requirements.
• Provide design support for HT/LT/ELV/ICA including calculations and schematics.
• Oversee design, scheduling, cost estimation and procurement.
• Ensure proposals comply with standards, timelines, budgets and client needs.
• Submit documentation, vendor approvals, schedules and reports; verify site work.
• Monitor progress and perform quality checks on ongoing work.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, authorities, developers and contractors.
• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams for delivery.
• Represent the company in technical meetings with clients and partners.
• Collaborate with procurement to source and deliver materials.
• Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned.

Minimum Educational Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or an equivalent qualification

Work Experience

Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role within building services/MEP engineering Proven experience in electrical system design for MEP consultancy projects Experience in handling HT, LT, ELV, and ICA systems Prior experience in the Maldives will be an added advantage. Proven experience in hotel, high-rise building, residential, mixed-use development, commercial, retail, and industrial projects.

Technical Skills

Strong capability in designing and developing electrical systems and components Proficiency in design calculations, conceptual designs, and detailed electrical schematics Hands-on experience with MS Project, Revit, Auto CAD, and Microsoft Office Good understanding of project planning, scheduling, and cost estimation Familiarity with relevant industry standards, international codes, and regulations

Primary Responsibilities

Design and develop electrical systems and components in accordance with project requirements and industry standards. Provide design support for various electrical services (HT/LT/ELV/ICA, etc.), including performing design calculations, preparing conceptual designs, and developing detailed electrical schematics and drawings. Oversee project conception, design, and specifications while managing scheduling, cost estimation, and material procurement. Ensure all proposals comply with company quality procedures, client requirements, applicable international standards and codes, project timelines, budgets, and overall company objectives. Ensure timely submission of all documentation, including vendor approvals, project reports, and schedules, and verify that site work is executed in accordance with specifications, drawings, and project requirements. Monitor project progress and conduct quality checks on completed and ongoing work. Coordinate with clients and consultants on technical requirements, and participate in technical discussions and meetings with authorities, developers, and contractors. Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams (including group representatives) to ensure proper project implementation and timely delivery. Represent the company in technical meetings with clients and stakeholders, acting as the technical point of contact for clients and suppliers. Collaborate closely with the procurement team and suppliers to ensure efficient material sourcing and delivery. Perform any other ad hoc duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
