Job summary

Black & Grey HR is seeking a Sr. Cost Control Engineer in Dubai to lead project cost management across steel, aluminum and façade works.

You will develop and implement cost control systems, prepare budgets and cash flow forecasts, and monitor expenditures against approved budgets. The role requires 5+ years in cost control with experience on steel, aluminum or façade projects, strong skills in budgeting, forecasting, EVM, and proficiency with Primavera P6 and ERP tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years of proven experience in cost control including a minimum of 6 years handling projects in steel, aluminum or façade sectors.
• Solid understanding of cost management practices including budgeting, forecasting and Earned Value Management (EVM).
• Advanced proficiency in project control and reporting tools such as Primavera (P6), MS Excel, ERP platforms and other cost management systems.
• Sound knowledge of construction contracts, FIDIC conditions and core principles of construction cost management.
• Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail.
• Effective communication and presentation skills with the ability to collaborate confidently with cross-functional project teams and senior management.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain cost control systems, processes and procedures for projects in steel, aluminum and façade works.
• Prepare detailed project budgets, cash flow forecasts and cost plans based on project scope, contracts and execution strategy.
• Track project expenditures and commitments against budgets, ensuring timely reporting of variances.
• Review subcontractor and supplier cost submissions, variations and claims for accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor procurement activities, material costs and labor productivity to ensure alignment with financial targets.
• Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to identify potential savings and efficiency improvements.
• Support tendering and estimation teams with cost data, benchmarks and historical analysis.
• Coordinate with project managers, planners and quantity surveyors to align cost data with project progress.
• Prepare and present monthly cost reports, variance analysis and recommendations to senior management.
• Ensure compliance with company financial policies, contract requirements and industry standards.
• Provide mentoring and guidance to junior cost engineers and project team members.
