Job summary

Abu Dhabi National Oil Company is seeking a seasoned Control Room Operator to supervise hydrocarbon processing units and associated utilities. The role requires coordinating with field personnel to adjust operations and ensuring safe handovers to maintenance teams.

The incumbent will monitor key process parameters via ICS/DCS, implement safe shutdown/startup procedures, and lead troubleshooting during emergencies while maintaining compliance with HSE policies and company SOPs.

Qualifications

• Technical Diploma in Chemical / Process Engineering or equivalent.
• 7 years of plant operations experience with at least 4 years in Control room Panel operations in the oil/gas industry.
• Expertise in plant operation procedures in Oil and Gas environment.
• Knowledge of Plant HSE related systems and procedures.
• Technical knowledge in Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
• Functional and Operational skills, good communication skills, good interpersonal skills.
• Scheduling and Co-ordinating, Checking, Examining and Recording.
• Working with Tools and Technology.
• Communicate with Shift Supervisor/Superintendent and outside operators during emergency situations.
• Oversee the execution of safe shutdown and start-up of process facilities and utility systems based on approved standard operating procedures and guidelines.
• Lead the troubleshooting and execute planned / emergency shutdowns, as deemed required, to preserve the integrity of process facilities.
• Initiate appropriate action in the event of process and utility system alarms and trips.
• Monitor and record key parameters for hydrocarbon process plant and utility systems.
• Well aware of all operations related TCs and their mitigations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor process parameters of Hydrocarbon processing units and utilities via ICS/DCS to ensure safe operation within performance targets.
• Coordinate with field personnel to adjust operations in line with process parameters within the operating envelope.
• Maintain safe handover/take-over of process equipment to Maintenance during maintenance activities.
• Review permit to work records/logs to ensure compliant control room operations.
• Oversee safe shutdown and startup of facilities using established SOPs.
• Lead troubleshooting and execute planned or emergency shutdowns when required.
