Job summary

Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC) in Abu Dhabi seeks a Consultant Physician to lead and supervise evidence-based clinical care. The role focuses on high-quality patient management, teaching junior staff, and providing clinical leadership within the department.

The post holder will participate in performance management, peer review, and the organization’s governance activities, while ensuring compliant, safe, and efficient patient care across divisions.

Qualifications

• Experience: Tier 1 requires a minimum of 2 years as a consultant or equivalent post board certification.
• Tier 2 requires a minimum of 8 years full-time employment as a Consultant or equivalent post-board certification in an internationally accredited institute.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care.
• Participate in performance management and peer review processes.
• Support division chief with medical coverage and staffing as required.
• Lead ward rounds and ensure timely documentation of clinical information.
• Promote audit, CME, and continuous improvement across the department.
